The Story
A signet ring can be represented by a smooth or engraved seal, or with an intaglio, which is created by carving into the surface of a stone. Its purpose would have been to seal the wax of a letter or note.
A stunning gold signet ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This beautiful piece, which is crafted in 14kt yellow gold has an oval-shaped face with a polished center. The smooth surface allows you to easily add your own initials or simply leave it as is. Gracing the shoulders of the ring are two romantic mermaids which have beautiful and soft features and a graduated band completes the classic Art Nouveau design. It's a fabulous piece and would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The signet stamp measures a little more than 3/8" tall and a little less than 3/8” wide. The ring has a finger size 8.5, but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold ring or design.
