A bold cameo ring from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k gold, this ring features a large, oval-shaped carnelian centerpiece, which is held within a fourteen-prong setting. The carnelian features a highly-intricate cameo image of solider on horseback. The shoulder is depicted in traditional Roman armor, and is holding a long, thing spear. The stallion's front legs are in the air as the pair prepares to enter battle! A shadow-like intaglio image is located behind the three-dimensional cameo image as well, showcasing a similar scene. The carnelian stone depicts a lovely deep, reddish-brown hue, which wonderfully complements the rosy gold setting. The shoulders and band of the ring feature a ribbed-design. A unique and commanding ring, this piece would make a statement worn on any hand!
Measurements: The ring is a size 6, but could easily be resized. The band has a width of 5.25mm. The centerpiece has a height of 1" and a width of 5/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or carved carnelian cameo, which is intact and securely set.
