Art Nouveau 14kt Moonstone + Diamond Dragonfly Motif Ring 0.80ct center

An incredible moonstone and diamond ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this fantastic and highly unusual piece has an artistic wirework setting which holds a large moonstone cabochon at its center. The oval-shaped moonstone is prong set and displays gorgeous pale blue color with an iridescent flash and a lovely translucent quality. Riveted into the center is an old Mine Cut diamond which weighs approximately 0.80ctw. The diamond is bezel set in white gold and surrounding the base of the moonstone is a textured striped design that extends onto the prongs, giving them a petal-like appearance. The split shank features a wonderful dragonfly cutout at each shoulder, each complete with a textured bodice, delicate legs, and a round head with etched eyes. Finishing the gorgeous design is a smoothly polished band that graduates slightly toward the back and "14K" is stamped inside the shank. It's an absolutely breathtaking piece with an exceptional design and would make a very special addition to any collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 8, but could easily re-sized. The moonstone setting measures approximately 5/8" tall and 1/2" wide. The tapered band measures approximately 2mm wide at the back.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or filigree work and the moonstone and diamond are secure and intact.
