An artistic and very unusual pin from the Art Nouveau (ca19o0) era! This unique piece piece is made of hand-carved horn, forming the shape of an elaborate winged insect. The pin is particularly large in size and wonderfully detailed, exhibiting carved texture on the front surface and slight variations in color to depict the bug's body, wings, and antennae. All four of the wings are elongated and semi translucent, giving the piece a layered look. Attached to the back of the piece is a silver bar pin and "c" catch clasp, allowing it to be easily fastened to a favorite garment. The word " LAMAND PARIS" have been hand-carved into the reverse side of the pin. A marvelous and lightweight Art Nouveau piece, its unusual design has a very striking appearance when worn. It is sure to make a very special and one-of-a-kind addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pin has a wingspan measuring 3 1/8" wide. The insect's body is 1" tall and 1/4" thick. The total weight of the piece is 3.9 grams.
