A wonderful and delicate pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is made of natural lava and has an exquisite hand carved design. It depicts the face of a smiling woman adorned with a floral crown. Surrounding the woman are additional flowers and leaves, and what appears to be a thin veil. The detail of the piece is very fine, complete with intricate facial features, individual feathers, and flowing locks of hair. The lava itself has an earthy tan color and displays a lovely, matte finish. On the back of the piece is a simple gold filled bar pin clasp and c-catch clasp. This gorgeous Victorian pin shows exemplary craftsmanship and would make a very special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 2” long, 1 1/4” tall and is approximately 3/4" at its deepest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides minimal normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the carved lava and the gold filled pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
