A magnificent banded agate pendant from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in gold-fill, this large oval-shaped pendant features a bezel-set banded agate. The agate displays a deep brownish-black hue, and features a white ring. The agate is surrounded by a frame, which is heavily decorated with both two-dimensional and three-dimensional gold balls. The top of the piece features a large fluted bail. The backside of the agate features a gold frame, which can easily be removed to allow the wearer to place a photo or special memento. This large, eye catching piece has a fabulous look that would make a perfect addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2 1/2" long, is 1 1/2" wide and approximately 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold-filled setting or to the banded agate stone, which is intact. The bail is secure and in working order.
