An exquisite bangle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18k yellow gold, the front of this bracelet is decorated with an adorable "pop" of color! The front of the bangle features 3 fly-motifs. The central fly features a bead-set, oval cut sapphire thorax. The central sapphire displays a rich, luscious blue hue. The thoraxes of the other 2 flies are represented by bead-set, oval cut rubies, which vary slightly in hue, but both depict pinkish-red tones. The top of each fly's thorax and bottom corner of each insect's wing also features a bezel-set rose cut diamond. The eyes, legs, wings, and antennae of the flies are represented by delicate engravings, which give subtle life to the insects. Each "shoulder" surrounding the central, fly-adorned portion of the bracelet features a singular bead-set, round cut sapphires. These smaller sapphires are encircled by starburst-motif engravings, and display a lighter, cornflower blue hue. The remaining surface of the bangle is smooth and simple, and the piece secures with a simple push clasp and safety chain. The tongue of the push clasp features the French eagle-motif hallmark. An absolutely brilliant piece, this bangle would make a lovely gift for any insect-lover or nature fanatic!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/4" wide and 2" tall. The surface of the bracelet measures 7/16" at its widest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the hinged gold setting. All of the stones are intact and securely set. The push clasp and safety chain are both intact and in working order.
