Victorian Brass Crystal Picture Frame

A lovely brass and crystal picture frame from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful oval-shaped frame is crafted in darkened brass and is decorated with a halo of intricately faceted paste stones that surround the glass center. The 50 white pastes, which rest in prong settings, are arranged in a decorative clustered pattern. A simple metal border frames the photo inside, and four of the pastes at the base of the frame act as the feet. The back of the piece reveals a simple hinged bar stand and removable back, allowing you to store your own special photograph inside. A beautiful Victorian piece, the frame has a simple, lovely design and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The frame stands 5" tall, measures 3.5" wide. The space behind glass (where you'd store a photograph) measures 2 1/8" wide and 3" tall.

Condition: The overall condition of the frame is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the metal setting or paste stones, one of which has been replaced. The bar stand is secure and the removable photo backing is intact. There is a natural patina on the brass which gives it its dark color, which is common for a piece from the Victorian era.
