Victorian 14kt Faceted Garnet Link Collar Necklace 15.5"

An absolutely gorgeous garnet link necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning piece is comprised of graduating garnet stones which rest in a 14kt yellow gold setting. The square and rectangular shaped stones are set in an open back setting, showcasing their regal purple and red hues and allowing light to pass through and catch the facets beautifully with every turn. The polished bezels surrounding the stones perfectly compliment the rich hues, and a delicate connector loop attaches each link together, forming a straight but flexible line that rests beautifully along the neckline. Finishing the design are two short sections of chain that flank the barrel clasp at the back, securely fastening the piece together. This simple but stunning design is perfect for special occasions and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!  

Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 15.5" long. The largest center link measures slightly more than 1/4" tall, about 3/8" wide, and 1/8" thick. The smallest link measures slightly more than 1/8" wide and tall and is 1/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the garnet stones are secure and intact. The barrel clasp is secure and in good working condition. There is an internal crack in one of the smallest links, however it is not noticeable when worn due to its size and location.
