The Story

This ruby and diamond cluster ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era is simply outstanding! The 14kt gold ring features a luscious .85ct ruby cabochon at the center, which is surrounded by a border of sparkling Mine Cut diamonds. The diamond halo includes 12 stones, which weigh approximately 0.60ctw combined and rest in a crown-like setting. The ruby is prong set slightly above the diamond border, its rich red color contrasting beautifully with the sparkling diamond stones. A scalloped filigree motif is visible from the side of the cathedral-style mounting, and a smooth band completes the design. The inside of the band is stamped with "14k". When worn, the ring is breathtaking and makes a spectacular statement piece! A beautiful example of Victorian gemstone rings, this amazing piece would look exceptional worn on special occasions and could make a fantastic gemstone engagement ring!

Measurements: The ring has a large finger size 4.5, but could easily be resized as desired. The ruby and diamond centerpiece measures approximately 3/8" wide, just under 1/2" tall, and rests about 1/4" off the finger when worn.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to any of the stones, all of which are intact and securely set.
