A delightful pair of buckle-motif earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, each earring begins with an oval-shaped link, which is adorned with dainty floral and foliage-motif engravings. The negative space at the top of each oval-shape features a three-dimensional, dangling buckle-motif link. The buckle-motif link also features intricate engravings, which add dimension to the piece. The backside of each oval-shaped link is smooth and simple, and features 2 small holes. The earrings are completed by simple earring wires. A wonderful example of Victorian-era craftsmanship, these earrings would make a lovely addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 1/8" long (including the earring wires) and measures 5/8" at its widest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. There is a natural patina on the gold earrings, which is common amongst antique jewelry pieces and could be polished off easily if desired. The earring wires are secure and in working order.
