A wonderful gemstoneĀ beetleĀ pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This detailedĀ piece is made of 10k yellow goldĀ and has a 3-dimensional design. A large carved citrineĀ cabochon stone forms the lower half of its body, while the upper half features an amethyst cabochon thorax and a red glass head. Two curled antennae sprout out of the top of the head, and sixĀ curved legs peek out from the underside of the bug. On the underside of the pin is a smooth gold setting and a secure bar pin with a c-catch clasp. This delightful piece is a wonderful example of Victorian era insect-inspired jewelry. It would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures approximately 1"Ā long, slightly over 1/2" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the goldĀ setting or to the citrine and amethyst stones, all of which are intact.Ā The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
