The Story

Guilloché (in English usually "Guilloche") is an engraving technique in which a very precise, intricate pattern is mechanically etched into an underlying material with very fine detail. Most commonly, the Guilloche surface is then enameled, and the repetitive, intricate design shows through the colorful enamel to the surface.

A wonderful Guilloché enamel and diamond pin from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Crafted in both 14k yellow gold and sterling silver, this flower-shaped pin is both substantial in size and rich in color. The center of the flower features an old mine cut diamond, which is held within an eight-prong setting. The petals of the flower display a lovely rich green and light purple hue, which wonderfully contrasts the mixed metal look of the piece. The flower stem, which is crafted in sterling silver, is smooth and simple. Both sides of the stem feature three leaves, which each feature a bead set old mine cut diamond. The back of the pin features a simple pin clasp. A truly unique piece, this Guilloché pin would make a lovely addition to any antique jewelry collection!

Measurements: The pin has a length of 2 3/8" and a width of 1 1/2" at its widest point.

Condition: The pin is in great condition. There is no apparent damage to the Guilloché enamel, and all of the diamonds are secure and intact. The pin clasp is in working order.
